Ideally suited for modern way of breeding, Blonde d’Aquitaine cattle has a quiet temperament, good fertility rate, an interesting longevity (one fourth of the calving cows is 8 years or older in France) and an incredible calving ease overall : 95% of calvings are easy calvings in 2009 (data coming from “Contrôle de Performances 2010). This calving ability is coming from the pelvis rectangular form with a good widness at pin bones but overall from the rangy calf morphology at birth and frame thinness.
